What is the ready position in fielding?
Fielders get into an athletic ready position as the pitch reaches the plate, many with a small prep step, so they can move either way. The videos show the ready position and the infield prep step.
What it looks like: Standing flat-footed with the hands on the knees as the pitch is thrown, so the first step is late.
