Facts as the maker states them, read 24 Oct 2026

A 12.5 inch modified trap glove in a youth fit for ages 10-14, with a native kip leather shell, sheepskin palm lining, cow leather finger lining, kip welting and binding, acrylic fur wrist and USA steerhide lacing, in right-hand throw. It is a one-off custom build that was not personalised.

Type	Youth fielder's glove
Size	12.5 in What this means Measured from the heel to the top of the index finger. Infielders use smaller gloves (10.25 to 11.75 in) for quick transfers; outfielders larger (12 to 12.75 in); first base and catcher's mitts are measured differently. Tip: Bigger is not better for a young infielder. A glove they can close beats a glove that looks like a pro's.

Fit profile

Stated comes off the maker's page; derived is worked out from what the maker states: its words, its leather, its numbers; graded is Patrick's call; unknown means the class is not known yet.

LeatherstatedKip
Break-inderivedMediumDerived: youth line in kip; youth builds are cut softer than pro.
What this means
Needs a week or two of catch and shaping before it closes well.
Closing effortderivedMediumDerived from break-in class.
What this means
How hard a young hand has to squeeze to close the glove on a ball. Easy means a soft build and a smaller pattern; hard means stiff leather or a big mitt.
Tip: If your player drops balls that hit the pocket, closing effort is usually the reason, not the hands.
