How do you take a lead and steal a base?

A good lead and an early read of the pitcher give the runner a jump. Some youth leagues keep runners on the base until the pitch reaches the batter, so check your league’s rules first. The videos show leads, base-stealing technique and reading the pitcher.

What it looks like: A late jump, or a lead so big the pitcher picks the runner off.
