What are the types of glove webs?

Open webs let the ball out fast and are the infielder's choice: the I-web, and the H-web common at third and in the outfield. A closed basket web hides the ball for a pitcher and closes easily on a youth glove; a deep trapeze web is for the outfield.

I-web

An open web shaped like an I. Light, quick to clear dirt, lets the ball out fast. The infielder's standard.

H-web

An open web shaped like an H. Common on outfield and third-base gloves; sturdy and lets the player see through it on fly balls.

Basket web

A closed, woven web that hides the ball. Pitchers use it; also common on youth gloves because it closes easily.

Trapeze web

A deep, open web for outfielders; the deepest pocket of the common webs.
