  • Bat DigestIndependent review: Sam Bat CD1 (Sam Wood) BBCOR -3 mapleRating: Letter grades, not stars: Overall D+, Power C, Control A+, Quality F, Value D (rank 372 of 424 BBCOR -3 bats)These grades look formula-based (several makers share the same scores), so we do not use them. The review likes: Balanced feel and consistent grain; Control graded very high; Pro heritage and the hardness of rock mapleThe review raises: Quality and Value letter grades are low but the page gives no reason; Power graded average; Suggested only for hitters with sound mechanics (read it there)
