Are metal cleats allowed in youth baseball?

Generally not: players wear molded cleats through 12, and metal comes in from 13U where the league allows it, so check the league before buying metal.

The rule

Metal cleats are generally not allowed in Little League Majors and below; molded for youth; metal from 13U where the league allows; turf shoes for cages.

Metal or molded

Metal cleats grip best on dirt and grass but are not allowed in most leagues for players under 13. Molded (rubber or plastic) cleats are legal everywhere and safer for young players. Turf shoes are for cages and artificial turf.

Check the league before buying metal.
