Facts as the maker states them, read 24 Oct 2026

An 11.5-inch open-back youth glove with an I web, made of softer steerhide with a pre-treated leather palm, lightweight leather backing, wool finger padding and supports in each finger stall, laced through the fingers with 100 tensile strength lacing. Sold for infield and outfield use in black, right- or left-hand throw.

Type	Youth infield/outfield glove
Size	11.5 in What this means Measured from the heel to the top of the index finger. Infielders use smaller gloves (10.25 to 11.75 in) for quick transfers; outfielders larger (12 to 12.75 in); first base and catcher's mitts are measured differently. Tip: Bigger is not better for a young infielder. A glove they can close beats a glove that looks like a pro's.
Web	I Web What this means An open web shaped like an I. Light, quick to clear dirt, lets the ball out fast. The infielder's standard.
Leather	Steer Hide Leather What this means Heavy, durable adult-cattle leather. Stiff at first, lasts for years. Most pro lines use it.
Back	Open
Hand	Right-hand throw or left-hand throw
Ages	Advanced Youth; young players
Level	Advanced youth quality; professional grade glove suitable for young players

The maker says	The mission of the Vinci Youth series is to produce a professional grade glove suitable for young players. Super easy to break in. The lightweight leather backing makes the glove easier to squeeze. Beefed up padding in the Fortus line. Finger stall supports help the wool finger padding retain shape.

LeatherstatedSteerhide
Break-instatedGame-readyStated: page uses break-in or softness wording.
What this means
Soft out of the box and usable the first day. Made with softer leather that will not last as long as a stiff pro glove, which is fine for a growing player.
Tip: For most players under 12 this is the right answer.
Closing effortderivedEasyDerived: soft youth build in a small pattern.
What this means
How hard a young hand has to squeeze to close the glove on a ball. Easy means a soft build and a smaller pattern; hard means stiff leather or a big mitt.
Tip: If your player drops balls that hit the pocket, closing effort is usually the reason, not the hands.
