Facts as the maker states them, read 20 Oct 2026

A Pro Select glove, model GPS-74D, 12.75 inches, offered in right- and left-hand throw in grey-white. The page lists Steer-Hot heat-treated steer hide leather, a padded thumb, a sheepskin palm liner and professional-level lace.

Type	Baseball glove
Size	12.75 in What this means Measured from the heel to the top of the index finger. Infielders use smaller gloves (10.25 to 11.75 in) for quick transfers; outfielders larger (12 to 12.75 in); first base and catcher's mitts are measured differently. Tip: Bigger is not better for a young infielder. A glove they can close beats a glove that looks like a pro's.
Leather	Steer-Hot Leather: Premium Steer hide, heat treated during the tanning process What this means Heavy, durable adult-cattle leather. Stiff at first, lasts for years. Most pro lines use it.
Hand	Right-hand throw or left-hand throw

LeatherstatedSteerhide
Break-instatedMediumStated: page says it breaks in quicker or easier, not that it is game-ready.
What this means
Needs a week or two of catch and shaping before it closes well.
Closing effortderivedMediumDerived from break-in class.
What this means
How hard a young hand has to squeeze to close the glove on a ball. Easy means a soft build and a smaller pattern; hard means stiff leather or a big mitt.
Tip: If your player drops balls that hit the pocket, closing effort is usually the reason, not the hands.
