| Type | Infield glove |
|---|---|
| Size | 12.5 inWhat this meansMeasured from the heel to the top of the index finger. Infielders use smaller gloves (10.25 to 11.75 in) for quick transfers; outfielders larger (12 to 12.75 in); first base and catcher's mitts are measured differently. Tip: Bigger is not better for a young infielder. A glove they can close beats a glove that looks like a pro's. |
| Web | H WebWhat this meansAn open web shaped like an H. Common on outfield and third-base gloves; sturdy and lets the player see through it on fly balls. |
| Leather | 6 oz. premium kip leatherWhat this meansLight, tight-grained leather from young cattle. The premium choice for pro infield gloves: light and long-lasting, but stiff at first. |
