A 12 inch Pro Preferred infield glove on the NP pattern with a Pro I web and conventional back, a Gameday 57 Manny Machado pro game day pattern in right hand throw, in Mint. It is built from full-grain kip leather with a Pittards sheepskin lining, moldable padding and a wool wrist lining.

Type	Infield glove
Size	12 in What this means Measured from the heel to the top of the index finger. Infielders use smaller gloves (10.25 to 11.75 in) for quick transfers; outfielders larger (12 to 12.75 in); first base and catcher's mitts are measured differently. Tip: Bigger is not better for a young infielder. A glove they can close beats a glove that looks like a pro's.
Web	Pro I
Leather	Full-Grain Kip Leather What this means Light, tight-grained leather from young cattle. The premium choice for pro infield gloves: light and long-lasting, but stiff at first.

The maker says	It was crafted from ultra-premium kip leather for an unrivaled look and feel. Machado is one of the best defensive third basemen in the league and trusts his 12-inch NP pattern to dominate the hot corner. It is crafted from the same patterns used by some of the top Gold Glovers playing today.

Fit profile

Stated comes off the maker's page; derived is worked out from what the maker states: its words, its leather, its numbers; graded is Patrick's call; unknown means the class is not known yet.

LeatherstatedKip
Break-inderivedStiffDerived from stated player break-in of 70%.
What this means
Pro-grade leather such as Japanese kip or steerhide. Can take weeks to months to break in and a young player may not be able to close it at all at first. Lasts for years once broken in.
Tip: Do not buy a stiff pro glove for a player under 12 unless you are ready to break it in for them.
Closing effortderivedHardDerived: stiff build in a mitt or large pattern.
What this means
How hard a young hand has to squeeze to close the glove on a ball. Easy means a soft build and a smaller pattern; hard means stiff leather or a big mitt.
Tip: If your player drops balls that hit the pocket, closing effort is usually the reason, not the hands.
