The GMP-6000R is an 11.75-inch Mizuno Pro glove in right-hand throw that the page recommends for middle infielders, shortstops and third basemen. It is made of Deguchi Northern European kip leather with professional-level lace and hand-based patterns that set the pocket under the web.

Type	Infield glove
Size	11.75 in What this means Measured from the heel to the top of the index finger. Infielders use smaller gloves (10.25 to 11.75 in) for quick transfers; outfielders larger (12 to 12.75 in); first base and catcher's mitts are measured differently. Tip: Bigger is not better for a young infielder. A glove they can close beats a glove that looks like a pro's.
Leather	Deguchi Northern European Kip Leather What this means Light, tight-grained leather from young cattle. The premium choice for pro infield gloves: light and long-lasting, but stiff at first.
Hand	Right-hand throw
Level	serious athlete

LeatherstatedKip
Break-instatedStiffStated: page says stiff or break-in required.
What this means
Pro-grade leather such as Japanese kip or steerhide. Can take weeks to months to break in and a young player may not be able to close it at all at first. Lasts for years once broken in.
Tip: Do not buy a stiff pro glove for a player under 12 unless you are ready to break it in for them.
Closing effortderivedHardDerived: stiff build in a mitt or large pattern.
What this means
How hard a young hand has to squeeze to close the glove on a ball. Easy means a soft build and a smaller pattern; hard means stiff leather or a big mitt.
Tip: If your player drops balls that hit the pocket, closing effort is usually the reason, not the hands.
