The Youth Maple 12 Super Light is a maple youth bat with model code YSL 12. The page describes a long handle with a quick taper to a 2 1/4 inch barrel and a 1 inch handle, and lists no lengths or weights.
| Model code | YSL 12 |
|---|---|
| Wood | MapleWhat this meansDense and hard, the most common pro wood. Hits hard and holds up when the player squares the ball up; breaks rather than flakes when mis-hit. Quality varies a lot by maker. Tip: Maple from a good maker is the best wood bat money can buy; maple from a cheap one is the worst. |
| Barrel | 2 1/4" barrelWhat this meansA thinner barrel (under about 2.45 in on a wood bat), with less wood to hit with. Its size does not decide the balance: some skinny-barrel bats are end-loaded. |
| Handle | long handle transitioning with a quick taper; 1" handle |
| Finishes | Barrel and handle color, 36 choices (Black to Yellow, incl. Natural and Unfinished); Matte Finish +$10 per part |
