The Pro Stock Youth Baseball Model 98 is a youth bat with model code INV-Youth-98Y, offered in lengths of 28 to 31 inches. The page describes a 15/16 inch handle with a small conventional knob and a full 2 1/4 inch barrel, and gives no wood type.
| Model code | INV-Youth-98Y |
|---|---|
| Barrel | full 2 1/4" barrelWhat this meansA thinner barrel (under about 2.45 in on a wood bat), with less wood to hit with. Its size does not decide the balance: some skinny-barrel bats are end-loaded. |
| Handle | 15/16" handleWhat this meansAbout 0.93 to 0.96 in. The usual choice: enough whip, enough strength. Tip: Most players never need to think about this one. |
| Knob | StandardWhat this meansA traditional round knob. The simplest feel and what most beginners should start with. |
| Balance | BalancedWhat this meansWeight is spread evenly, so the bat feels lighter than its number. A player who uses the knob or handle to deliver the barrel often needs the weight balanced or down toward the hands. Balance is not barrel size: some big-barrel bats are balanced. Tip: Which one is right depends on your player and how consistently they deliver the barrel. |
