Facts as the maker states them, read 13 Oct 2026

Model 99 is a maple game bat with a thin 7/8" handle and a medium 2 1/2" barrel, described as a well balanced, traditionally shaped bat. The page gives normal production of 3-4 weeks.

Model code99
WoodMaple
What this means

Dense and hard, the most common pro wood. Hits hard and holds up when the player squares the ball up; breaks rather than flakes when mis-hit. Quality varies a lot by maker.

Tip: Maple from a good maker is the best wood bat money can buy; maple from a cheap one is the worst.

Barrelmedium 2 1/2" barrel
What this means

The middle of the range (about 2.45 to 2.55 in). Most pro turn models live here.

Tip: A safe default when you are not sure.

Handlethin 7/8" handle
What this means

A handle under about 0.93 in. It whips through the zone and feels fast, but it stings more on mis-hits and, in wood, breaks more easily. Common on pro models.

Tip: Thin handles and young hands do not mix well in cold weather; expect sting.

BalanceBalanced
What this means

Weight is spread evenly, so the bat feels lighter than its number. A player who uses the knob or handle to deliver the barrel often needs the weight balanced or down toward the hands. Balance is not barrel size: some big-barrel bats are balanced.

Tip: Which one is right depends on your player and how consistently they deliver the barrel.

The maker says
  • Feels easy to swing and light.
  • The barrel size and thin handle translate into a bat that uses heavier, denser, harder wood with above average performance.
  • ...is seeking a thin handle controllable bat will find the 99 a great choice.
