The Torpedo is a wood baseball bat with a familiar 0.93-inch standard handle and a traditional knob. The page says its maximum barrel thickness is shifted into the primary contact zone, and that every bat has an ink dot and is handcrafted in the USA.
| Barrel | shifts maximum barrel thickness directly into the primary contact zoneWhat this meansA big barrel (about 2.56 in and up) gives the most hitting surface. Its size does not decide the balance: some big-barrel bats are balanced. |
|---|---|
| Handle | familiar 0.93" standard handleWhat this meansAbout 0.93 to 0.96 in. The usual choice: enough whip, enough strength. Tip: Most players never need to think about this one. |
| Knob | StandardWhat this meansA traditional round knob. The simplest feel and what most beginners should start with. |
| Ink dot | YesWhat this meansAn ink dot on the handle shows the maker tested the grain slope. It is required for maple and birch bats used in pro ball and is a good sign of wood selection on any bat. |
