Granite Hybrid Series Model 243 is a hickory and bamboo hybrid bat sold in 32 to 34 inch sizes, with BBCOR certified wording and a two-year warranty. The page describes it with a larger barrel, a tapered handle and an end-loaded feel.
| Model code | 243 |
|---|---|
| Wood | Hickory or bamboo |
| Barrel | larger barrelWhat this meansA big barrel (about 2.56 in and up) gives the most hitting surface. Its size does not decide the balance: some big-barrel bats are balanced. |
| Handle | stiff handle; tapered handle |
| Balance | End loadedWhat this meansExtra weight toward the end of the barrel, so the bat swings heavier than its number. For some players it gives a better feel for where the barrel is; whether it suits yours depends on how consistently they deliver the barrel. End load is not barrel size: some skinny-barrel bats are end-loaded. Tip: An end-loaded bat that feels heavy is the most common sizing mistake we see. |
| Lengths | 32, 33, 34 in |
| Compared on the page | The stiff handle is what differentiates this bat from the Maple Hybrid. |
| Certification | BBCOR certifiedWhat this meansRequired for high school and college: drop -3, barrel up to 2-5/8 in. From the 2028 season high school will also allow USA -4, -5 and -6 bats; 2026 and 2027 stay BBCOR only. |
